SESSION 1

april 9th, 2026

(starting writing now, lots of things have happened before ofc)

The group makes it up to the top of Highhelm and enters the palace, where at the end of the long hall, they find a frail old woman holding a piece of paper. She introduces herself as the king Borogrim's messenger and gives them a debriefing on their mission. There is something going on in the nearby village of Taggoret and they are being sent to help, they will be riding the king's royal Griffin to get there. But first, the woman tells them that they may ask the king THREE questions. And three questions only. The group decides that their first question will be to ask what is going on down in the depths and with the cult. The king responds and tells them "THINGS ARE STILL BEING SORTED OUT WITH THE SITUATION GOING ON IN THE DEPTHS" The group accepts this answer and moves onto the next one, Glugule decides to ask this question. "Yo yo yo,.. what is up man??" He asks.

"THE SKY." The king responds. (second question wasted lmao) The group insults Glugule, then moves on to the third question, they ask the king if they know where the leader of the cult or "Kermis" could be. The king tells them that there is no cult anywhere. Suddenly, the palace ceiling opens up and a large dwarf riding a giant griffin soars down from out of the mountain. He greets them and tells the crew to hop on. Though for some reason, they really want to pick a name first, they bicker and bicker until eventually settling on Clint Griffin. Everyone picks their seats and gets on. About 10 minutes through the flight, the pilot dwarf asks everyone what their stories are and what they are doing here. Glugule goes first.

"Well.. it all began a long long time ago.. I but a small goblin, abandoned by my parents.. left in a swamp.. until-" The pilot cuts him off and moves onto the next, Celes the catfolk.

"Well.. I was in school for a while.. and got a useless degree in astronomy, I separated from my dad.. I met these guys in Falcon's Hollow, a cult burnt it down and he died to these aliens... and now I'm here." Renesmee the Human Dhampir goes next.

"So.. I actually don't remember very well I know I was locked up in that temple for a loonngg time, these guys found me.. and now I'm here." Enuls the Dwarf goes next.

"I was force fed sooo much food.. and-and then my parents just kept feeding me mo-" The Dwarf cuts him off quickly and moves onto the next, Thistle the Cactus Leshy.

"Hundreds of years ago.. I was summoned by a great druid, he taught me magic and everything I needed to know, until I eventually went down the wrong path, I joined a cult where they brainwashed me, the same one that burned down our village as well as killed Glugule's family. After realizing how terrible these people were, I ran away.

After this, the group notices another giant griffin flying towards them with someone riding it, the piloting dwarf advises them not to say a WORD to this man.

He flies next to them.

"Hmmmmmm.. hellooooooo bertyyy.... what are you doing herreee????" He says, twirling his long mustache

The piloting dwarf tells him to leave immediately

"Well okaayyyy.... I'll be seeing you all soon then!!!..."

"I really hate that guy.."

After a while of silence, the group finally reaches their destination. Taggoret. Everyone gets off of the griffin and the dwarf tells them he'll be back in around 6 hours. A small dwarf woman greets them immediately, she tells them that she'll tell them what to do once they enter the building she enters. Everyone goes off to talk to the residents of the village first. Renesmee talks to the large orc man while Thistle goes over to the long bearded dwarf man. Glugule and Enuls go down to the orc merchant to buy something, Glugule settles on 3 Skunk bombs, and Enuls sells his steel shield to get an even worse shield. Glugule goes over to the strange hobgoblin. "hmmmmmheeehheehh.. hellooo.. mm.. do oyu want to buy some boness??.." Glugule denies and pulls his weapon out, the Hobgoblin crawls away like a spider and burrows into the ground, Enuls attempts to bargain with him but fails. After everyone is finished talking, they all go to the building the dwarven woman is in. She tells them that people have been going missing in the mines under the well and sightings of strange creatures have become more common, everyone agrees and accepts the mission, Glugule leaves Mickey and Gunk with the woman, Alaric also leaves Joey with her.

They all descend into the cave, Enuls inhales some shrooms immediately after seeing them and becomes high. The group wanders through the cave for a little bit, facing pitfalls and blockages, until they find a human woman tied up by some tents, Glugule unties her meanwhile Enuls checks the tents and boxes nearby, all he finds are various bones, some are fresh, some are old. The woman can barely speak, but follows the group anyways, until they reached the next room. The group finds they must bounce across the giant mushrooms to reach the other side, everyone makes it except one. The woman. She slips and falls into the flowing river of mysterious goop, screaming for her life. They mourn her for 0.3 seconds before moving on. The group finds a strange bright blue lake with crystals all around it, Thistle jumps in and reaches the bottom, only to find himself in a complete other world, entirely made of water. Thistle tries to go back down under into the portal to get back to the lake, nearly dying to the giant gnawing beast swimming towards him. He gets launched out after getting to the bottom. In the next room, they find three tablets with writing on them, two of which are written in Fey, a language only Thistle can read. The first one reads "Behind you resides a portal to the Plane of Water." The second tablet says "Infront of you is a statue of our great saviour." There is a destroyed statue made of stone atop the third tablet, everything but two long legs is destroyed. They move on to the next room. This one is strangely dark, and silent. Until they hear a chittering and scuttling nearby in the dark, Thistle goes in first, and quietly makes it to the next room, Celes goes next, but trips and screeches immediately, she catches something moving in the dark in front of her as she screeches, Celes moves quickly and quietly out of the room with Enuls following. Glugule goes next but decides to check out the strange tents first. He grabs the nearby axe and opens the tent, something screeches at him and burrows into the ground, throwing bones above up to Glugule. He hears something close by. He decides to run as fast as he can to the exit, though he makes it out, Glugule feels something grazing his back as he makes it to the light.
